My vintage heart

A few weeks ago browsing through Instagram something special caught my eye, and less than a week later it was with me, and I had the challenge of working out where to display it. Of course, I’m talking about the vintage heart, and it was total love at first sight.

When it arrived, there wasn’t a plan of where it would go. I wasn’t actually sure how big it would be, so didn’t want to fix on a place and then need to rethink. If I’m honest there isn’t much space for thinking right now, as my head feels full, so having to do it twice felt like something that could wait.

I was fully asking MOH to ask where when it arrived, as well as one other predictable comment. And he didn’t totally disappoint. He mentioned, just in passing, that it was a little rusty…

I think I’ve found the perfect spot for it though, and I’m trying to keep my blinkers on while browsing Instagram, as I’m now following many more similar accounts, who are all selling items I’d happily own.

Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love.

It’s been great to hear of the breakthrough news this week on the Covid-19 vaccines, less so of the rising cases in London, and the very real likelihood that we will move into Tier 3 at the next review date next week. On the whole we’re not going out much, but it is the small businesses and hospitality industry that I really feel for. It’s been a tough year all round for so many people and there’s still some way to go I’m sure yet.

It’s been another quiet week on my blog, which means it’s been busy elsewhere and I’m looking forward to a break over Christmas. This week is our last #PoCoLo of the year, we’re taking a break over Christmas and will be back, hopefully raring to go, on Friday 8 January 2021.

Thank you for joining Suzanne and I this year, it’s been a year like no other, but it’s been great to have you with us. Have a great Christmas and New Year, and enjoy whatever you do, whoever you celebrate with and let’s hope 2021 is better behaved than 2020.

In case you’re wondering about my photo this week, it’s a photo accident that I love, which happens more often than I think!

This week I’ve started to dip a toe into the festive season, most of it all work related with some preparation for an event before the end of the year. I think it must have rubbed off though as I think this weekend we’ll put some Christmas decorations up. It’s early for us, but as others have already said, this year everything’s different.

I’m sticking with my Portuguese theme and my photo is one from a wander around Lisbon in July last year. We also have a restaurant near us with this name, and it’s one I’m missing visiting. It has the hugest steaks, and I’d better stop there or else I’ll be missing it even more. It’s a small restaurant at the best of times, so I’m not sure quite how many people they can cater for, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be popular.
