Post Comment Love 13 - 15 December

Hello there, and welcome back to this week’s #PoCoLo - a relaxed, friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked, comment and share some of that love.

Please don’t link up posts which are older as they will be removed from the linky, and if older posts are linked then please don’t feel that it’s necessary to comment on those. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

Our Christmas preparations are continuing, and gift buyer has come along leaps and bounds. We’ve also had a trip to London and bought some mince pies from Fortnum and Mason, saw the fabulous ‘Monet and The Thames’ exhibition at the Courtauld Gallery, and a bit more excitement besides.

Storm Darragh arrived with all the force they said it would, and it seems taking a particular fondness to our garden table and chairs, which it unceremoniously upended and dumped on the grass. We were lucky it was the grass and not the patio as I’m not sure the patio would have been so forgiving to the table top. Needless to say it’s now in the garage and secured more safely, what’s better is we didn’t get soaked moving it there.

Anyway, this is the last PoCoLo of 2024 - we’ll be back on Friday 12 January 2025.

Thank you for supporting our linky and our respective blogs this year, and I hope you have a joyous and restful time celebrating the Christmas period with your families, friends and loved ones.

See you in 2025!

Storm Darragh upended our garden table and chairs - thankfully it's undamaged and now in the garage!

It’s been the start of a busy social period here with my Sewing Group’s Christmas Do at the start of the week, a wreath making workshop and MOH’s cycling group’s get together on Saturday. I’m not complaining, it’s nice to have these and feel part of the community here. We’re getting to the point where we see people we know in town, and sometimes even in the pub too - it’s a peculiar feeling, but it really does make you feel like you belong.

Moving to a new part of the country, without knowing anyone in the immediate vicinity was a slightly mad and possibly brave thing to do, and we know that it would take some time to really settle in, but just lately it feels like we’ve taken a big step forward. Which is good news, as we have no regrets about leaving London and moving here.

My photo this week is the wreath I made at the workshop in the pub in the next village - it’s quite muted for me, but I love it. It spent the night in my car, and has since moved to temporarily hang in the garage as this weekend there’s more bad weather forecast.

Remember I’m now on Bluesky, if you’re also there it’d be great to see you - you can find me at bosworthlife.bsky.social.

Have a great week.

The snow has all gone here, though we still have the colder temperatures - apart from a strange couple of days were it hit fifteen/sixteen degrees, even overnight. All very peculiar. And the wind, boy that was windy - I’m normally a heavy sleeper, but it woke me, several times, but thankfully other than a couple of plastic plant pots being repositioned we had no damage. Even the garden furniture cover stayed on, thanks to the two additional straps we added. One is around the chairs keeping everything together, and the other is under the lip of the table. Together these stop the cover looking, and acting, like a billowing mushroom. Phew.

This week I was surprised to see three red chillies on my chilli plant, which I’d brought into the utility room for the winter. Without a greenhouse I was stumped, but it seems more than happy here, though no new chillies have appeared since I brought it in, hence the dead looking flowers. But I’ll definitely take the red chillies.

Also I’ve signed up to Bluesky, and so far I’m enjoying it over there. If you’re also on Bluesky it’d be great to see you - you can find me at bosworthlife.bsky.social.

Have a great week.
