Recycled plastic rugs, that don't look like recycled plastic rugs

I suspect that when you read that you thought of stiff, shiny woven rugs didn't you? I know that my mind had some trouble computing when I read the sign and saw the attractive looking - and soft to the touch - rugs in the box from Eco Braids, which I spotted on that trip to the House & Garden store at Snape Maltings.  But they are the recycled rugs in question and I tested them they're not stiff or shiny at all. In fact I don't think you'd know about their green credentials unless you knew, if you know what I mean.

They can be used inside or out and are machine washable - just as the sign says.  The colourways have some cracking names too: paprika, putty, sapphire, wasabi and pewter. I'm very tempted for when I replace the mat we have by our back door.

A Green and Rosie Life

The loos with the succulents

Sometimes good loos come at you thick and fast. Or they seem to for me anyway. And as you know by now a good loo deserves to be photographed. Some of these photos might be a little blurry-er than usual but when I tell you these are the loos in a City of London pub, I hope you'll forgive me.

These light fittings meant I was off to a good start. And the central island of offset sinks didn't worry me either.

And then in front of the mirrors I spotted these terrariums complete with succulents, on pebbles and moss.

Large succulents too. Larger than mine.

And if you needed an excuse to stare in the mirror, then you could also pick up some cocktail recipes here at the same time.  The Summer Nights vodka and watermelon cocktail sounded great, one to hint at with MOH I think...

And then it struck me, the whole space had the feel of Rockett St George to it - not a bad thing, but not what I expected in a City of London pub either.

And if you're wondering where these loos are, they're in the Anthologist on Gresham Street in EC2. Well worth a look - with maybe a beverage or two, or even a cocktail - if you're ever that way.

Post Comment Love 1 - 3 September 2017

Well, hello September!  And welcome back to another Friday and #PoCoLo. If you were here last week, it was great to see you; if you're new here this week then you're very welcome. I'm sure that once again you'll find some great posts to read and some lovely bloggers too.

It's been a funny week, as only short weeks can be. In the office it's been quiet and that's usually a good opportunity to plough on through some work, and I have, but not as much as I'd hoped as all of a sudden it was Thursday and the list was, as ever, still long. That'll be the optimist in me again!

We had a great long weekend and made the most of the weather. Relishing kicking back for a bit I think I've almost booked a holiday. Unusually for us it'll be our first time abroad this year. We're going back to Portugal, but not to the Alentejo for a change. This time we'll be flying to Porto and then taking the train to the Douro Valley where MOH is hoping for some cycling. It's pretty much there, and it's not for another month - yes I'm a bit of a last minute girl - but I'm already looking forward to it.

My photo this week is from my walk to work, but not of Greenwich Park. As it was wet, with more rain expected, I steered clear of the wet grass and took a completely different route. Well they say a change is as good as a rest, don't they?

I spotted the fanciest brick wall, and couldn't resist a photo.

Blogger Showcase: Rog from Rog Willis

Rog has a great tagline on his blog - Getting Fit. Rock n'Roll Forever. Life. - and he describes himself as funny, determined and compassionate. I'm also glad to see he's chosen cake to go with coffee, even if it is just a small portion. But when you learn that his favourite topic to write about is weight training, that makes sense.  He's a dad and grandad, and clearly a devoted husband.
