Hello and welcome to another Friday and another #PoCoLo - a Friday the 13th one at that. Thank you to everyone who linked up last week, it was great to see so many of you joining in. Sorry I haven't got to everyone's post just yet, I've had a bit of a week and have found myself asleep much earlier than normal. I'll catch up with myself soon and hope you'll bear with me.
Recently on Fridays I seem to find myself talking about the weather, and we've had a week of weather again this week haven't we? Our plan at the weekend was to see family and then catch up with some gardening. By the time we got home though it was way too hot for gardening, so we opted for an afternoon on the sunloungers. Pure bliss.
That means we have double the amount to do this weekend though...
Before we meet this week's Newbie Showcase, don't forget:
If you'd like to guest co-host on Friday 10 June with Morgan while I pedal along the banks of the Loire please get in touch.
If your blog is under a year old now and you'd like to feature in a future Newbie Showcase then please get in touch. We'd love to have you!
Newbie Showcase: Polly from Right Royal Mother
I started writing Right Royal Mother at the start of this year - it was originally called ‘Didn’t We Almost Anmer Hall’ but as a friend kindly pointed out, that might have been lost on non-Whitney fans!
I really just wanted to capture what happened with my family, especially NG (not George) and NC (not Charlotte) as they grew up but I couldn't see a good way to do it other than in a narrative. I got semi-obsessed with Kate Middleton when it was announced she was pregnant with George, as I was with NG and couldn't tell anyone as I was also incredibly sick. It sort of went from there.
Since I started blogging, I have been nominated for 10 awards (including BritMums ‘Brilliance in Blogging – Fresh Voice and Writer categories and the Mad Blog Awards), contributed to Tots100 with 'How to Blog Like a Duchess' and been described as ‘f*cking hilarious, clever, brilliantly written, phenomenally imaginative’. This is all beyond my wildest dreams and I am loving it - but the BEST thing about blogging is the community. I've had 3.5 months of banter with so many lovely bloggers - it's just the best group of people!!
And learning ... I'm always learning!
A few of my most popular posts are: Tears, toddlers & the Taj Mahal which was Tots 100’s Post of the Day and a couple of infographics entitled Is Motherhood like Kate Middleton really Magic and 8 Reasons for the Ladness of Prince George. ‘Indiatourus Rex & the Suitcase of Gloom’ is one of my faves too.
