Post Comment Love 13-15 January

Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

This week we’ve been having new gas mains pipes, like you do, which has also involved removing the gas meter from the kitchen. The best things to come from the work are the extra space in the kitchen cupboard where the meter once was, the cooperation of our neighbours providing access so the pipe can be fitted externally, and not having to have the disruption of having the pipe run through the house. The workmen have all been very pleasant and accommodating too though I’m not sure everyone they encounter in their work is as pleasant back to them.

Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - the first of 2023, so Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a relaxing, revitalising and refreshing break. We had a great time spending time with family over an extended period, swapping gifts and enjoying good food, which was just what was needed. The decorations are all down now, and this year in an attempt to get organised I’ve bought a tree bag and some smaller plastic storage bags for the baubles and other decorations we’ve collected over the years.

To be honest the bags are pretty dull, but entirely functional - which is the important part. But I couldn’t resist some personalised labels, which I know will make me smile next time we get them out of the cupboard.

*** This is our last linky of the year. We’re taking a break over the festive season and will be back again on Friday 6 January 2023. Thank you for joining us this year, and we look forward to seeing you again in January. Have a great Christmas and New Year! ***

Brrrr. It’s a bit chilly here. Hopefully you’re all keeping warm and as toasty as you can. There’s definitely been days where we’ve officially hunkered down and it’s the sort of weather that encourages you to eat heartily and hearty food. Well, that’s my excuse anyway. Last Friday I made these baked doughnuts, which are more of a cross between a doughnut and a muffin, and taste really good. Both MOH and I were out at different social events that day, his during the day, mine in the evening. So, and bless him, he didn’t believe me when I said I’d made these - though of course, when he got home he was happy enough to try them out. As was I when I got home!
