Post Comment Love & Newbie Showcase 27-29 May 2016

Hello there and welcome to Post Comment Love.  You'll have noticed the flowers no doubt - pretty aren't they?  Sadly they're not real, but virtual ones I've downloaded from Unsplash, which if you haven't discovered it yet is a great resource for images.

I decided that in my birthday edition of PoCoLo - my birthday is Sunday - I should have birthday flowers. So here they are for us all to enjoy.

Before we move onto this week's Newbie Showcase I wanted to let you know that Jayne from Sticky Mud and Belly Laughs will be joining Morgan to guest co-host on 10 June while I'm potentially wifi-less as I cycle along the Loire. Well, that's if I can get through the ports.  Hmmmm.

Rebecca from Taylor Made Ramblings

Hello!  I’m Rebecca from Taylor-made-ramblings.

I am new to the world of blogging but loving the journey so far. I tend to write about whatever catches my interest – life, parenting, travel, mental and physical health, fitness, and more as time goes on I am sure.

Seven weeks in and I am still finding my feet but it is good to be (slowly!) learning more about the technical and social media side of blogging. I still have so much more I would like to do with my website, and photography is another area I would like to improve on.

I love to write so blogging is the perfect outlet for this, and I love reading other blogs. The blogging community is so friendly and supportive, and it has been great to meet some lovely new people. There are so many amazing blogs out there to read and learn from!

Some of my favourite posts I have written so far include:

Thank you for reading and I hope you can come and visit my page - any feedback and comments are very welcome!

Post Comment Love 20-22 May 2016

Friday again so soon? Welcome back to PoCoLo, and it was lovely to see you all last week.  Before we get started a couple of things:

  • If you'd like to guest co-host on Friday 10 June with Morgan while I pedal along the banks of the Loire please get in touch.

  • If your blog is under a year old now and you'd like to feature in a future Newbie Showcase then please get in touch. We'd love to have you!

I've resolved not to talk about the weather here this Friday, but I'm sticking with something seasonal - and yes, that's strawberries.  This week I bought my first strawberries from the local greengrocers, I forgot the cream but I'm hoping to do better this week.  I also moved more of my strawberry plants from the garden over to the allotment.  Some already had some tiny fruits on them, so I'm hoping I haven't upset them too much by moving them.  I'm hoping for a good crop.

Post Comment Love and Newbie Showcase 13-15 May 2016

Hello and welcome to another Friday and another #PoCoLo - a Friday the 13th one at that. Thank you  to everyone who linked up last week, it was great to see so many of you joining in. Sorry I haven't got to everyone's post just yet, I've had a bit of a week and have found myself asleep much earlier than normal.  I'll catch up with myself soon and hope you'll bear with me.

Recently on Fridays I seem to find myself talking about the weather, and we've had a week of weather again this week haven't we? Our plan at the weekend was to see family and then catch up with some gardening. By the time we got home though it was way too hot for gardening, so we opted for an afternoon on the sunloungers.  Pure bliss.

That means we have double the amount to do this weekend though...

Before we meet this week's Newbie Showcase, don't forget:

  • If you'd like to guest co-host on Friday 10 June with Morgan while I pedal along the banks of the Loire please get in touch.

  • If your blog is under a year old now and you'd like to feature in a future Newbie Showcase then please get in touch. We'd love to have you!

Newbie Showcase: Polly from Right Royal Mother

Right Royal Mother

I started writing Right Royal Mother at the start of this year - it was originally called ‘Didn’t We Almost Anmer Hall’ but as a friend kindly pointed out, that might have been lost on non-Whitney fans!

I really just wanted to capture what happened with my family, especially NG (not George) and NC (not Charlotte) as they grew up but I couldn't see a good way to do it other than in a narrative. I got semi-obsessed with Kate Middleton when it was announced she was pregnant with George, as I was with NG and couldn't tell anyone as I was also incredibly sick. It sort of went from there.

Since I started blogging, I have been nominated for 10 awards (including BritMums ‘Brilliance in Blogging – Fresh Voice and Writer categories and the Mad Blog Awards), contributed to Tots100 with 'How to Blog Like a Duchess' and been described as ‘f*cking hilarious, clever, brilliantly written, phenomenally imaginative’. This is all beyond my wildest dreams and I am loving it - but the BEST thing about blogging is the community. I've had 3.5 months of banter with so many lovely bloggers - it's just the best group of people!!

And learning ... I'm always learning!

Right Royal Mother and family

A few of my most popular posts are: Tears, toddlers & the Taj Mahal which was Tots 100’s Post of the Day and a couple of infographics entitled Is Motherhood like Kate Middleton really Magic and 8 Reasons for the Ladness of Prince George‘Indiatourus Rex & the Suitcase of Gloom’ is one of my faves too.
