Hello there, welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a relaxed, friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked, comment and share some of that love.

Please don’t link up posts which are older as they may be removed, and if you see older posts are linked then please don’t feel that it’s necessary to comment on those. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

We were in East Grinstead last weekend and stumbled upon their Vintage Car rally which took place in the High Street. There were plenty of highly polished cars to admire, but unusually it was a motorbike, or rather a scooter, which caught my eye - so that’s the photo I’m sharing this week. I think it’s safe to say they can clearly see what’s behind them… and with those lights what’s ahead too!

We also had what I think was the worst pub roast dinner ever, or mine anyway. My whole meal was covered in a very strong, thick and consequently salty (likely) instant gravy. It was not the best, and I’m sure it’s taken me a day or two to recover from. I have nothing against instant gravy by the way, I regularly use it myself, but in much reduced quantities.

Let’s all hope for better roast dinners, have a great week.

Thankfully this week has calmed down a fair bit, and it’s meant we’ve been able to have a bit more time at home than before. Though there were still some outings that were not to be missed, including the new Wool Show at Newark at the weekend where I was impressed at the restraint I showed and only buying things on my list. In fact I think I took more wool with me than I actually bought, which I’m sure isn’t how it’s supposed to work, but hey ho!

I also went to a workshop to make some wire flowers. It turned out to be an incredible mindful activity, and while the vase of flowers and seed heads look like a tangled mass of squiggles (which isn’t entirely wrong) if you look closely there are some different, and hopefully distinguishable, flowers and shapes in there. I think the vase will look better with less in, but as I said it was great fun, I’ll share more in a post sometime soon.

Have a great week.

It’s been a busy week and we’ve been out and about locally. We went up (and down) the 898 steps of the church tower in Newark and on the way up stopped in the bell room and the clock room before finally stepping out onto the parapet with its views across the market place. It was absolutely worth doing, and I’m glad I spotted one of these rarely offered tours and nabbed our places. It’s great to discover things nearby, and especially those places that aren’t normally open.

I’ve also picked up my guinea fowl applique, which was from the workshop I did at this year’s Festival of Quilts. I’ve been adding more blanket stitch to the edge of the birds, for both decorative and practical reasons - I mean, no one needs their guinea fowl falling off do they?!

Have a great week.
