Post Comment Love 2 - 4 June

Hello there, and welcome back to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week, please remember this, posts which are older will be removed from the linky. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

In comparison to last week which was predominantly task-based, this week has been much more fun and celebratory, as weeks celebrating birthdays should be. The weather even managed to sort itself out and we’ve had time in the gardening for working and relaxing. The sun loungers are out and have been used, and there’s been a couple of barbecued meals too - let’s hope the warmer weather hangs around for a bit.

It’s not just me that’s enjoying the weather, our Gertrude Jekyll rose bush has the most roses we’ve seen on it for a good few years, and they’re such gorgeous flowers too - it’s definitely a plant that’s going on my ‘next garden’ list, especially as it was a present from MOH on our fourth wedding anniversary.

Isn’t it gorgeous?

We’ve our final bank holiday of the month on Monday, so the linky will stay open for an extra day closing at 11pm on Monday, giving you extra time to link up.

We’ve had one of those weeks where we’ve been ploughing through tasks, none of which seem particularly photo worthy. We’ve had some family meet-ups with more to follow, which is good for my car as well as my soul. As is the gardening, and being able to potter and pick off jobs a few a day, rather than our previous blitz it style. Like anything though, once you start paying attention to something you notice the smallest changes, and it’s great to notice these in our garden. Usually as I wander up and down I have my phone in my hand, ready to capture what I see - and I’m particularly pleased with this capture of the new growth on the yew tree.

Thankfully we’ve seen an upturn in the weather this week, it’s beginning to feel like May at last. We’ve been making the most of if by sorting out our shed (it’s a never-ending task), doing some gardening and yesterday we headed out to Kent for a seven mile walk. Last weekend we even managed to cook on the barbecue - only lunch, rather than dinner, but it got its first use of the year.

This week’s photo is from our walk yesterday, which turned into a longer than expected walk as we weren’t really paying attention and headed off in the opposite direction at one point. I’ve learnt that I need some new walking boots too, there’s nothing worse than hobbling at the end of the walk (and it wasn’t that bad really - but bad enough!).

But isn’t this a fabulous and typical Kent view?
