Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

This week has mostly been about cake, and very good cake at that. On Sunday we had a trip out in the car to Westerham, which is about half an hour or so from us. The weather was good, and after a stroll around the village which included a stop in an absolutely amazing Italian deli and store, where we picked up six of the most divine Italian desserts.

Later in the week I spent the day in Islington at the Garden Press Event and on the way home I stopped at one of the patisserie shops and left with cardamom and pistachio Chelsea-type buns, which were both delicious. And there was also the giant chocolate chip cookie I had alongside my flat white as I sat reflecting on the day. I saw some great things at the event and I’ll share more of them here soon. All this in the week that I’d been meaning to make a cake too, that hasn’t happened just yet!

This past week has been a funny one, I’ve clearly done stuff but I’m not really sure exactly what. We had a nice meal out, and had some really good home cooked food, MOH made a chocolate mousse which I managed to spill down a brand new cream jumper (not a good look - thankfully we were at home!) and I’ve made the most of the sun’s warmth either being outside or finding a warm spot in the house. But there really hasn’t been any one thing, or any theme to the week, I guess sometimes weeks are like that.

I did receive the most beautiful little delivery this week though. For ten pounds plus postage this little box of five 10g skeins popped itself through my letterbox in its pretty pink packaging. I think I’ve found what I’m going to make with it, and I’m keen to get my crochet hooks out and try it (even though I’m still persevering with sewing my Vintage Sweetheart blanket together!)

Over the last week we’ve had an influx of house viewings, which is of course good news - hopefully we’ll soon find someone who’s keen to buy our house again. We had a buyer and things were progressing however, as is so often the case at the moment, our chain broke and we were back to square one. The downside of the house viewings is keeping everything cleaner and tidier than we normally would, so that it’s ready to welcome anyone even at short notice. I should say, we’re naturally clean and tidy, but this is a super level of clean and tidy!

We've slipped back into colder weather again, with fog and mist in the mornings. MOH took himself off for a morning cycle this week but wasn’t out for long thanks to the freezing fog. I was able to be a bit more tactical about things, and headed out once the sun was out and the skies had cleared somewhat. Walking back over the heath I snapped this week’s photo of some gorse against the chillier than it looks blue sky. I’m hopeful that spring isn’t too far away!
