Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

This week I’m feeling incredibly lucky. My phone took an unexpected and unplanned dunk in the toilet - I’d forgotten it was in my pocket - sigh! Thankfully though it wasn’t in the water for long and spent a good twelve hours in silica gel jail - it probably should have spent longer there, but I was chancing it. I didn’t charge it for a good twenty four hours more and it seems none the worse for its adventure. Phew.

I think it knew that I’d been looking at newer models, it might not have realised though I hadn’t found one at a price I liked. So I’m glad I haven’t been forced into an upgrade before I was ready to make the jump. But definitely lesson learnt this week.

I hope your week has been much less eventful!

I think I spoke to soon about the gas works - while re-tarmac-ing some of the dug up areas they went through a cable, which turned out to be our neighbours phone. So the telecoms company have been here fixing that, and yesterday a different tarmac-ing crew returned for a second go, which was thankfully more successful and they also did a much better job.

It’s been cold again here and I haven’t envied any of the workmen working outside in this weather. On Tuesday it was a lovely bright day so when MOH finished work we headed out for a short walk to clear our heads and were lucky enough to experience this beautiful sky. Isn’t it fab?

This week we’ve been having new gas mains pipes, like you do, which has also involved removing the gas meter from the kitchen. The best things to come from the work are the extra space in the kitchen cupboard where the meter once was, the cooperation of our neighbours providing access so the pipe can be fitted externally, and not having to have the disruption of having the pipe run through the house. The workmen have all been very pleasant and accommodating too though I’m not sure everyone they encounter in their work is as pleasant back to them.
