Post Comment Love 8-10 July

Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’re here.

Thanks for your comments and good wishes on my dental woes last week, they are now much improved following an earlier than planned return visit, which lasted the whole afternoon - an hour longer than expected. It’s also been a bit of a whirlwind week (again) in British politics, and it’s been fascinating to watch it develop and unfold. Of course, the timing as ever, isn’t great as there’s important things to deal with which will now are likely to be delayed which won’t help anyone.

The weather has been great though, and while the warmer weather generally makes me more sloth-like, it has been great to potter around in the garden, parched though it is!

I also can’t tell you how pleased I am that the sudden onset toothache I had last Friday is much reduced. I’ve had a couple of dentist appointments, and have some more to come. My crown came out and that also seemed to trigger an infection, along with the hangover of work needed from the first lockdown - yes, I know, but while I’m sure dentists are all very nice people, they’re somewhere that are all too easy to avoid visiting. Until you need to. But still ouch, especially as I also managed to get myself a reaction to the antibiotics. Thankfully though things are improving.

You’ll be pleased I’ve chosen something else for my photo this week. Last weekend we were visiting family in Buckinghamshire and headed out for a short walk on Sunday. Not a bad view, hey?

The weather here has mostly been glorious, despite the forecast of rain which hasn’t seemed to arrive in the quantities they’d forecast. It’s clearly good to have the warmer weather as it’s such a boost for so many reasons, but I always feel I should be making the most of it and that often means neglecting things inside or online - it’s a tricky balance, and one I’m not sure I’ve got quite right just yet.

Last week we headed to Gardener’s World Live in Birmingham - typically we planned to go on the hottest day of the year. The show was great and I’ll be sharing many more posts I’m sure, but the journey back was one of those journeys. Instead of coming back into Euston we needed to switch lines to come into Marylebone. That also meant switching our booked seats for a very full four carriage train - at least everyone was in the same situation and were making the most of it, and in relatively good humour. But it wasn’t a great journey - we got home five hours after our train should have arrived back into London - it was dark, but the first thing we did was head to the sun loungers in the garden!

Have a good week.
