Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love.

It’s been great to hear of the breakthrough news this week on the Covid-19 vaccines, less so of the rising cases in London, and the very real likelihood that we will move into Tier 3 at the next review date next week. On the whole we’re not going out much, but it is the small businesses and hospitality industry that I really feel for. It’s been a tough year all round for so many people and there’s still some way to go I’m sure yet.

It’s been another quiet week on my blog, which means it’s been busy elsewhere and I’m looking forward to a break over Christmas. This week is our last #PoCoLo of the year, we’re taking a break over Christmas and will be back, hopefully raring to go, on Friday 8 January 2021.

Thank you for joining Suzanne and I this year, it’s been a year like no other, but it’s been great to have you with us. Have a great Christmas and New Year, and enjoy whatever you do, whoever you celebrate with and let’s hope 2021 is better behaved than 2020.

In case you’re wondering about my photo this week, it’s a photo accident that I love, which happens more often than I think!

This week I’ve started to dip a toe into the festive season, most of it all work related with some preparation for an event before the end of the year. I think it must have rubbed off though as I think this weekend we’ll put some Christmas decorations up. It’s early for us, but as others have already said, this year everything’s different.

I’m sticking with my Portuguese theme and my photo is one from a wander around Lisbon in July last year. We also have a restaurant near us with this name, and it’s one I’m missing visiting. It has the hugest steaks, and I’d better stop there or else I’ll be missing it even more. It’s a small restaurant at the best of times, so I’m not sure quite how many people they can cater for, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be popular.

It does amaze me how quickly we adapt and change our routines, and we’re still doing that. It’s something like week 36 of working from home, which is crazy and while we’re not following the same routine each day, there is still routine. We still base ourselves at the kitchen table each day, though MOH has changed seats now he no longer has the dual screen set up now he’s no longer working. He has naturally assumed the role of making lunch, as well as breakfast, for which I’m grateful for and then later on I’ll cook tea. He’ll head out on his bike or spend his afternoons away from the screen and then will remind me about 7pm what the time is.

I’m sure there’ll be further changes needed as the seasons go on. January and February are the greyest months of the year and we’re thinking about how we can add some colour to our patio, with bulbs, as it’s very likely that we’ll be spending our time gazing over that.

This week - yes, it’s another old photo, though a more recent one - it’s one from our trip to Norfolk before the most recent changes and introduction of the tiers. The flowers and table and chairs were in the small garden outside the front door (which was at the back of the cottage - obviously) and a cheery welcome every time we got back to the cottage. In the summer I’m sure it’d be a great spot.
