The expected rain hasn’t arrived just yet, so it’s all quite disappointing. Though as I type I think the thunder is starting to rumble. It’s been cooler though, thankfully. Yesterday it was only 28. Who’d have thought that would have been a sentence I’d write, it was at one point 34 which is quite warm. Though being at home was much better than being in the office, as that was never a cool place to be.

There’s been very few photos this week, so I’ve dipped into my photo albums to share a photo that caught my eye. It was taken back in February, when we managed to escape for a few days in Lyon. Now that seems so far away, and a really good call to book an early-in-the-year weekend away. It’s taken from our hotel looking over the roof of what, on the ground floor, was the restaurant. We ate one of our best meals there, and it was just as well we didn’t have too far to roll back ‘home’.

All of the angles appeal, as well as the memories of a good few days, including the ones where we almost missed the flight home! Seriously.

How’s your week been? Here it’s past in as much as a blur as usual, with quite honestly, nothing that remarkable happening. But given that it’s now our twentieth week of working from home it’s not surprising that it’s feeling a bit same-y. In some ways we’re itching to get out and about, but in others we’re a lot more wary. It’s easy to forget life’s new restrictions, but then seeing the news of yet another town going back into lockdown and reality bites again.

My picture this week is one of the few I’ve taken this week - the light on the agapanthus was too good to miss.

It’s going to be a scorcher here by all accounts, and it sounds great. Well, when work is done with. I’m looking forward to some time offline, though it’s fair to say that’s happening more than it used to. I think for me that’s part of the trap of working remotely, but being the optimist I am I think I’ll crack it one day. Probably the day I go back to the office, but you know that counts doesn’t it?

My garden is starting to become useful, on Monday I popped out there before work to check on my beans after a weekend away. While I was picking some which had grown larger than I’d like, the rain came. So my photo this week is me and my runner beans sheltering in the greenhouse. It soon became clear that it was more than a shower, so I braved it and ran back for breakfast!
