Post Comment Love 20-22 September

Hello there and welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo a friendly linky where you can link any post published in the last week. Both Morgan and I know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. And an apology from me from neglecting the posts from the last week or so, I think I’m finally coming out of the chaos which has been my work life for the last few weeks, or I hope so at least.

Things generally have been a bit fraught, long hours at work, including extra hours at the weekend too and little time to cook proper food. And it’s been the same for MOH too, which hasn’t made for a great home life. It came to a bit of head this past week, my patience finally expired and MOH knew this I think, as the very next day he arrived home with these.

raspberry ripple roses

They have quickly become known as Raspberry Ripple Roses, and they (any any raspberry ripple ice cream) are very welcome. We’re heading out for lunch on Sunday after the rugby too, and I’m looking forward to both of those. It’s been a long few weeks of work, work, work and that’s not great, but I know that at times it just works out that way.

It’s been so much so, that I haven’t even crocheted for a while. I know, that needs to change!

Blogger showcase: Nicola from Mum on a Budget

I’m really pleased that we have a blogger in our Blogger Showcase spot this week, you can find out more about Nicola and read her full answers over on Morgan’s blog this week. But before you go, let me share a few snippets. Nicola lives in Edinburgh, has two children and has read blogs for as long as she can remember. She describes herself as impulsive, passionate and determined, though feeding her raging caffeine addiction made that question a tough one.

This week it was an easy choice of which blog post to link as I’ve only written one. I’m struggling to think when that last happened, but a busy time at work has left me with little time. And what time I’ve had I’ve been keen to be away from the PC.

We spent some time out in the garden on Sunday, mostly pottering, but while MOH did the heavy work I took some snaps and then disappeared indoors to make those scones. I’ve not long realised I could hang this heart garland from my new, repurposed, fencing which we’re using as trellis. They’re not outside lights per se, but with the battery pack in a plastic bag sealed with a kitchen clip, they’re managing. They’re pretty too.

I’m writing this post on Wednesday evening, and I’m confused about what day it is. That’s nothing new I guess, but the confusion seems to get earlier each week! I’m also struggling with the sheer amount of work that’s finding its way to my desk. It will get done, but I just need a quiet panic about it first before I can get my head around what needs to be done when, spending some time actually at my desk would also help.

I do wonder if the image I’ve chosen this week reflects my work day current chaos. It was the flooring in the Beatles exhibition at the Museum of London, and moving as it was at the time, it’s taking on new meaning at the moment, while I find the headspace to get my working day back under control.

My blog life is slightly more on track, though as usual, I’m still behind on my reading and commenting, but that’s doable, I think. I’ve even got to the point where posts are scheduled in advance, which feels a lot more in control.

Blogger Showcase: Lisa from Handmade in Israel

I’m sure Lisa and her blog will be familiar to regular linkers, but the beauty of the Blogger Showcase feature is that we get to find out a little bit more about the blogger behind the blog. Lisa grew up in Hull and met her British-born husband while living in Israel and has been blogging since 2008. And despite being British-born she doesn’t like the taste or smell of tea - you can read Lisa’s answers to all our questions over on Morgan’s blog.

Before you link up, think about if you would like to be our next Blogger Showcase. It’s simple to do and a great way to get some links back to your blog, just answer the questions and we can sort out a date.
