Post Comment Love: 6-8 September

Hello there and welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo a friendly linky where you can link any post published in the last week. Both Morgan and I know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love.

I’m writing this post on Wednesday evening, and I’m confused about what day it is. That’s nothing new I guess, but the confusion seems to get earlier each week! I’m also struggling with the sheer amount of work that’s finding its way to my desk. It will get done, but I just need a quiet panic about it first before I can get my head around what needs to be done when, spending some time actually at my desk would also help.

I do wonder if the image I’ve chosen this week reflects my work day current chaos. It was the flooring in the Beatles exhibition at the Museum of London, and moving as it was at the time, it’s taking on new meaning at the moment, while I find the headspace to get my working day back under control.

My blog life is slightly more on track, though as usual, I’m still behind on my reading and commenting, but that’s doable, I think. I’ve even got to the point where posts are scheduled in advance, which feels a lot more in control.

Blogger Showcase: Lisa from Handmade in Israel

I’m sure Lisa and her blog will be familiar to regular linkers, but the beauty of the Blogger Showcase feature is that we get to find out a little bit more about the blogger behind the blog. Lisa grew up in Hull and met her British-born husband while living in Israel and has been blogging since 2008. And despite being British-born she doesn’t like the taste or smell of tea - you can read Lisa’s answers to all our questions over on Morgan’s blog.

Before you link up, think about if you would like to be our next Blogger Showcase. It’s simple to do and a great way to get some links back to your blog, just answer the questions and we can sort out a date.

I’ve had a bit of a break from my blog this past week, and though not planned it was clearly needed. I’ve been in that overwhelm funk where you’ve lots to do but you’re not quite sure where to start, so in fact do nothing. Which doesn’t help when you review the mental list (or in fact the real one) but sometimes it’s just space that’s needed, and fretting or forcing it doesn’t work.

So I’ve read some books, got a bit further behind on all sorts of lists I have, but with some prioritisation changes I’m sure that everything that needs to be done, will happen. And some of it might not. But it’s not the end of world, and that’s both blog and work things.

I’ve made progress in other areas though including starting to edit my photos from Portugal, which is where this one originates from. I’ve many pictures of the tiles in Lisbon, some with ‘additions’ like the one below. I’m still figuring out if it’s graffiti (probably) or adds to the charm of the area close to where we stayed (also probably), or something else.

This week we’re keeping the linky open for an extra day, and it’ll close on Bank Holiday Monday, which unusually, is forecast to be the warmest Bank Holiday ever. Though none of us really believe that and are still making wet weather contingency plans, it is a Bank Holiday after all!

I’ve had some garden finds this week; the lettuce planted a few weeks earlier has, with all the rain, excelled itself and we’re regularly eating home grown lettuce now. I’ve got into the routine of picking it the night before, washing it and leaving it in the fridge in kitchen roll in an airtight container. It’s just as well as I’ve found at least one snail that had survived the night. Thankfully, it’s been a whole snail, as we all know the only thing worse than finding a whole snail, is half a snail…

It tastes much nicer than the bagged stuff, and is less slimy too, so far. The tomatoes though are slow to ripen, and I think are a casualty of the trees in our garden, not much sun is reaching them. There are a few beans on the way though, and I’m looking forward to those, though MOH will soon get to the point of asking “not beans, again?”

Blogger Showcase

Our list is still empty so there’s no showcase feature this week. If you’d like to be featured then please get in touch with Morgan or I.
