Hello there and welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - if you were here last week, it was great to see you. Hasn’t it been lovely to see the sun again?

Although the temperature is lower it’s nice to feel the sun on your back. We’ve toyed with putting the heating on for the mornings, and have put another thin quilt on the bed. MOH is campaigning for the duvet back, but I’m sure we can last out a bit longer. Have you had your heating on yet?

My photo this week is from July and my visit to Hyde Hall in Essex. How the sunlight dances across the colourful coleus, seems to sum up this week for me. Colourful, bright and glimpses of sun, and that’s never a bad thing.

I’ve an eye on the temperatures over in Italy to give me a clue of what to pack in the chance that this time I might not over pack and take things just in case. I’m sure it’s something I grapple with each time we go away, and always think it’s possible.

Blogger Showcase: Huda from BeauLife

1. Who are you?

Hey! I am Huda and I blog over at Beau Life.  I am a beauty and lifestyle blogger and I also offer some amazing blogging tips over on my blog. I am from Pakistan but currently residing in UAE. I recently completed my bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management. 

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I actually discovered blogging through YouTube. I had always been passionate about makeup and would spend hours on YouTube watching beauty videos. One of the beauty gurus I used to watch also ran a blog and that gave me an idea. Since I did not have the confidence nor the setup needed to do YouTube, I could simply share my passion for makeup with people through my blog.

3. Why did you start blogging?

I guess I have already answered this question. I have loved makeup since I was a little girl. Watching these talented ladies share their passion through YouTube and blogging inspired me to do the same and here I am.

4. What do you find most challenging?

For me, the most challenging is part is staying motivated even when I feel like my hard work and passion is not getting valued. I would love to get more opportunities through blogging but blogging requires a lot of patience and not all of us can become successful overnight.

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

Honestly, I love writing about anything beauty/lifestyle/blogging tips related which is why I cover all these topics on my blog. It is hard to choose one but I would say that the posts I create on blogging tips seem to do the best in terms of views.

6. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

Oh, I definitely have some big goals. I am always trying to better my content, grow my audience, increase my blog traffic and learn something new about blogging. For example, I am currently trying to learn about Pinterest and how I can use it to get traffic to my blog. I am very passionate about blogging and definitely aspire to make blogging a part-time if not a full-time job.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing is definitely being able to share- whether that be sharing makeup tips or sharing my life, I just love being able to connect with like minded people and I love having a little space of mine where I can come and just be creative.

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference?

No, I have not but I would love to.

9. What are your 3 best posts?

That is a hard one but if I had to choose, it would be these:

Sensitive, hardworking, passionate.

11. Are you a tea & biscuits person or coffee & cake person?

Can I be a tea and cake person? I can not drink coffee become it makes me jittery, but I do love tea and I definitely prefer cake over biscuits.

12. What is your idea of a perfect night out?

Getting ready (the getting ready part is always my fave part of going out) and going for an outdoor dinner near the beach.

Hello there and welcome to this week’s PoCoLo, if you were here last week it was great to see you and if you’re new here, then it’s great to see you. I’m sure you’ll find some great posts to read, and you never know perhaps some new to you blogs as well.

Last week you’ll remember that I was expecting my work life to return to a less busy level now that the new building was finally open. But it seems that was just wishful thinking, it hasn’t been quite so busy, that’s true. But it is, and I am, still busy, which is rather disappointing. On the plus side though I did leave work at five on Monday, and I have had lunch a couple of days too. Don’t get me wrong, I always eat, but this week I’ve got better at getting away from my desk, and it’s true what they say, it is rather good for you.

Don’t feel too sorry for me though as it’s not been all work. On Tuesday I went along to a private viewing of In The City in Greenwich and it was easy to spot my favourite exhibit. I’m pretty sure you won’t be surprised either.

Caroline is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger who’s also studying Mental Health Nursing. Hello there and welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - if you were here last week, it was great to see you. If you’re new here this week, then you’re very welcome. Don’t forget when you link up if you tag Morgan and I we’ll happily retweet your post, and we’ll usually share your post when we read it too.

This week has been a busy one so far, and there’s still more to come, but there’s been time for socialising with friends too, so it’s not been bad at all. This stint of busyness has an end in sight though, and that’s good, because it’s been pretty full on. Then I’ll be spending time trying to catch up with myself, doing the things I’ve neglected both at work and at home, and here too.

There’s not been many, if any photos this week and so rather than go photo-less like last week, I’ve jumped back to last September. This pretty pebble door stood out, partly for its attractiveness but also because we’ve started tackling our own front door. It’s taken a bit of a battering from the nice weather, and when we took the sofas out and some brute force was needed.

We have the paint, and it’s not too dissimilar to this colour, but now we just need the time to make it happen. Just the painting, we’re not going for the pebbled look. That might be quite weird in London.

Blogger Showcase: Alina from Fairytale Pretty Picture

1, Who are you?

I’m Alina Ghost and I’m an interior blogger at The Fairytale Pretty Picture and podcast founder & host of SEO with Mrs Ghost. 

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I discover blogs through attending events, social media and definitely from friends’ recommending their favourites too. I enjoy the blogging community and the support everyone gives to each other. 

3. Why did you start blogging?

I was reading blogs for inspiration and always found that there was a pretty picture I fell in love with. I wanted to inspire people too and document my crafts and redecorating projects. It then evolved very quickly.

4. What do you find most challenging?

Having enough time to do everything I want to do. I work full time and so blogging and podcasting is a hobby. Doing it on the weekend and fitting it all in with life-admin can be a real challenge but it’s all worth it!

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

Interiors. So homeware, DIY, furniture makeovers and the like. It’s a load of fun to see a crappy corner of the house turn into an Instagram sensation. 

6. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

A mix of both. I did have goals for years and it helped me grow and focus my attention on particular areas. Most recently however I have moved away from blogging frequently in order to spend time with my dying nan but she passed away the other day so I’m sure I’ll plunge back in no time. 

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

The community and the support that it offers. Everyone so far is has been absolutely lovely and it’s great to hear feedback about your own work too. 

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

Yes, there was plenty to learn and great people to meet. It was also a good opportunity to speak to brands and get the blog name out there. 

9. What are your 3 best posts?

I love fairytales and so I put together this post on the 9+ interiors that would look like a fairytale in the real world and if you had the design in your home. 

The second article I’d say would be 10 ways to decorate a rented place. As less and less people are able to afford a property I think these tips are really important to people.

Last but not least my how to make wardrobe sachets is the most visited post every week. People LOVE it because it’s super easy and super helpful.

10. Describe yourself in three words!

Enthusiastic, friendly and vibrant. 

11. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

ALL of the above. I’m a feeder at work haha. I love biscuits and cake and I’m always drinking tea and coffee... yup, even when it’s 30+ degrees. 

12. What's your idea of a perfect night out?

I would say a girly night out with food and cocktails would be perfect after a busy working week. It’s great to relax and enjoy great food as well as company. 

13. Your perfect night in?

With my husband and pup watching a sci-fi or horror movie. I would also add a glass of red wine in with that if I may…

14. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

I think they’d say I’m helpful. I enjoy aiding others and would go out of my way to go above and beyond what a family member or friend would do. Hopefully they’ll agree!
