Post Comment Love and Blogger Showcase 3-5 August

Hello there and welcome back to another #PoCoLo and welcome back to the sun!  If you were here last week, it was great to see you and if you're new here this week then welcome aboard, I'll know you'll find some great posts and blogs so do take some time to check some of them out.

Thank you to Nikki from Someplace Strange for guest co-hosting with me for the past two weeks, this week though, and for the rest of this month, I've a new guest co-host, Suzanne from Chicken Ruby so please do pop over and say hello.

It looks as if the higher temperatures are back doesn't it?  And while it was nice to have a break, and some rain, it's nice to have the sun back too.  We're never content are we?

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend pleasing myself, getting my craft on and spending some time on the sun loungers, while MOH is away on a stag weekend.

This week my photo is one of our redcurrant bush which arrived as a bare rooted plant.  It's come on loads and has since been potted up, and the birds are showing a little bit too much interest so it's also netted.  AT the same time I bought a blackcurrant bush which still looks the same as when it arrived - bare rooted.

This week I remembered to get in touch with Suttons to say it wasn't growing as expected.  They immediately said they'd send another if I let them know the variety, but sadly they're out of them for this year and so they've refunded my money.  You can't say better than that can you, especially as it was part of a pack with the redcurrant bush.

Our redcurrant bush in a trug on the patio

I wish I could say the same for the new pots I ordered at the same time.  I'm still waiting for their one day delivery and rapidly losing my patience with them.  I'm not naming the company yet as I'm trying to be fair and give them the chance to work this out, but it's not going so well and it's  a real shame when a company gets it so wrong.

Blogger showcase: Kylie from Simple Little Secrets

1. Who are you?

My name is Kylie I am from the north of England but live near Brighton I have a 2 year old daughter and am absolutely mad about makeup.

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging and why did you start blogging

I discovered blogging when all my friends told me I should write a book about my tips and tricks for make up and how to do things yourself rather than pay a fortune.  This led me to create a blog where I could write about whatever was interesting me at the time or whatever new tip I could easily post. This is why I started blogging.

3. What do you find most challenging?

I find filming myself most challenging because I always doubt whether what I am recording is really of interest to anyone else, I can sometimes be self conscious and over critical of what I am talking about. It takes me a while to remember everyone is different and maybe not everyone will enjoy my videos, but there are people out there who do and like them enough to subscribe to my channel which makes me stop second guessing myself.

4. What is your favourite topic to write about?

My favourite topic to write about is finding deals and vouchers - anything that can save money and make you feel good.

5. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

I am blogging for fun, but I do hope it may take me somewhere in the future. I’m not sure where, but as long as I’m enjoying what I’m doing that’s all that matters to me at the moment.

6. Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

I have never attended a bloggers conference.

7. What are your 3 best posts?

My 3 best posts are my I Sea Pasta, Desio Lens Review and MAC Rosegold and Purple Eyeshadow.

8. Describe yourself in three words

I am funny, girly and helpful.

9. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

I am a tea and biscuits girl of course!

10. What's your idea of a perfect night out?

My perfect night out would be a really tasty meal in a cool restaurant with my close friends and then maybe go to a trendy bar where we can have a dance.

11. Your perfect night in?

My perfect night in is watching a good film with popcorn and lots of sweets possible a pizza with my partner and a good bottle of wine.

12. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

My mum would say my best quality is how I try to always see the positive out of any difficult situation and to try and see the good in people where it might be hard to.

Hello there and welcome to another #PoCoLo and it's looking like it's going to be a hot one - if you were here last week it was great to see you, and if you're new here this week you're very welcome.  Once again I'm joined by Nikki from Something Strange, so as well as checking out our Blogger Showcase, please do pop over and say hello to @MrsTubbs.

Who'd have thought us Brits would be looking forward to some rain so much?

I am officially melting and Thursday evening struggled to keep cool at all.  I don't want to moan about the weather but I am looking forward to some cooler temperatures, and have this feeling that if it does rain then quite a few of us will be giving a little, or perhaps a bit bigger cheer.

Although I appear to have developed a new routine on my walking commute home, which is a stop at our local M&S for a cool down in the chiller section, and I don't think I'm the only one.  I've bumped into the same people wandering around slowly to cool down, phffing as we went.

In more exciting news a wedding invitation arrived this week, and for a wedding at The Grosvenor no less, so some shopping is going to be required.  Well, it'd be rude not to hey?

This week's photo sums up the week for me, and you might be surprised to know that it's one from my recent visit to RHS Hyde Hall in Essex and not somewhere more exotic.

Blogger Showcase: Andreia from LifeMakeupStyle

1. Who are you?

Hi my name is Andreia I am 24 years old and a stay at home mum to my little princess, V (9 months old). I am a avid list maker. I make lists for EVERYTHING!! In my free time I like to watch mummy vloggers on YouTube and going for strolls with my little baba. My favourite TV programme is Desperate Housewives, I keep rewatching it over and over again. Have currently just finished my 4th time.

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I first discovered blogs when I was about 15 and started becoming interested in the world of makeup and fashion. I would spend every moment that I could scrolling through blogs and watching YouTube tutorials. It was always beauty and fashion related blogs until I moved out of my parents house and in with my partner. I started having a yearn for a baby so my interests changed from beauty blogs to mummy and lifestyle blogs and YouTube channels. Then about three years ago I decided to start my own blog and called it LifeMakeupStyle. I have also since started blogging about motherhood and my little peanut.

3. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because of my love for makeup and fashion. My family and friends always came to me for advice on those topics which made me think  "well, if they like what I have to say maybe other people will too?!” and that’s where my passion for blogging started.

4. What do you find most challenging?

Finding the time to write posts. Especially now that I have an infant. It’s difficult to find the time to sit down and actually think about what your writing when the baby is trying to jump inside her toy basket and gets stuck with her legs flapping around in the air. I love being a mum more that anything in this world so everything else kind of takes a back seat when it comes to baby V.

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

Motherhood and household without a doubt. I think because those two things are now what I do 24/7 so I find it easier to write about them. Sometimes I feel like I am getting too old for the beauty blogging side of my blog. It’s important to me to make other stay at home mums and young mums understand their value and offer some advice along the way

6. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

I began blogging for fun but have since started setting my self goals. This has been since I’ve had my daughter. I’ve become more determined to provide her with a stable future and also so that when she’s older she can read my blog when she has her own children and it will hopefully help her.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing about blogging is the community. Everyone is so supportive and helpful. I also love to get emails from other mums telling me their stories and expressing their gratitude for my posts. That makes all the hard work worthwhile.

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so what did you think?

I have never attended one but hope to have the opportunity to in the future. I feel like they would be very informative and helpful.

9. What are your 3 best posts?

10. Describe yourself in 3 words

Loving motherhood always... I don’t know if that counts because it isn’t 3 different descriptive words but I feel like that small sentence sums me up to a T.

11. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

A little of both really. I am a “coffee and biscuits” person.

12. What is your idea of a perfect night out?

Going out for a nice dinner with my OH and the baby and then coming home to watch a movie with popcorn and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

13. Your perfect night in?

Take-away and movie snacks whilst watching a comedy, or if it’s just me and the baby it ends up being mummy and baby in bed watching our favourite movie Moana.

14. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

I think they would say that I have a big heart. I always try and help everyone else and sometimes forget about myself. According to my parents I have always been like that.

Post Comment Love and Blogger Showcase 20-22 July

Hello there and welcome to another #PoCoLo - if you were here last week it was great to see you.  If you're new here then you're very welcome.  Either way I just know you're going to find some fabulous posts to read.  There's something different for you this week and for the next few weeks, as while Morgan is away a couple of our regular linkers will be guest co-hosting with me.

For today and for next Friday my co-host is Nikki from Something Strange, so as well as checking out our Blogger Showcase, please do pop over and say hello to @MrsTubbs.

I'm also sharing my photo much earlier than usual in my post.  Sadly this week the blogging community lost the funny, kind, generous and inspiring Kate Sutton from WitWitWoo way too soon.  Her two sons are fundraising for her funeral and even though they've already smashed their target it would be great to raise as much as we can to help in some little way.  You might have already read the hashtag #BeMoreWitWitWoo on Twitter, if not take a look, it's a fitting tribute to a great lady.

BE BOLD. BE BRAVE. BE BRIGHT. BE BIG. BE BEAUTIFUL. #BEMOREWITWITWOO

BE BOLD. BE BRAVE. BE BRIGHT. BE BIG. BE BEAUTIFUL. #BEMOREWITWITWOO

The photo is the first time I met Kate at a golf blogging evening - like you do - and she couldn't have made me feel more welcome.  I remember laughing the whole evening, and not just at my spectacularly bad attempts at hitting the ball.  I met her several times afterwards at blogging conferences and events and each time she made time to stop and have a chat, and not just with me, with plenty of people.

We should all definitely #BeMoreWitWitWoo

Before I share this week's Blogger Showcase, would you like to be featured in a future post?  If so, send Morgan and I your answers to postcommentlove@gmail.com

My 'pen name' is Jayla Reeves. I like to keep my writing life separate from home life, even though I write at home mostly. It keeps me honest, believe it or not. 4. What do you find most challenging?

Building a following. I'm endlessly pursuing more readers.
