Post Comment Love & Blogger Showcase 22 - 24 June

Hello there and welcome to this week's #PoCoLo - it's been a bit of a week here and more so than usual, so this will only be a short post - please forgive me.

If you're new here this week it's great to see you *waves* and if you were here last week thank you for your continued support. It means a lot to both Morgan and I.

My photo this week is from my visit to Gardeners' World Live (as is the post I've linked) on Sunday - they're so vibrant and pretty they needed to be kept behind the rope barrier for their own safety...

Blogger Showcase: Janita from Tyler Belle

1. Who are you?

My name is Janita.  I’m a wife and a momma to a baby boy and baby girl.  I’m 21, and live in a small town of roughly 200 people in Manitoba, Canada.  I’m a country girl, a Supernatural and Marvel fan and I cherish family dearly!  I’m a PCOS and anxiety warrior learning to appreciate the small things in life.

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I first came across blogs when I was 17 for a school project.  I was instantly hooked and couldn’t stop reading.  A few years later, after marrying my husband and having 2 kids I realized I had a lot to say and needed to share it with the world.  Tyler Belle was created in that moment.

3. Why did you start blogging?

A few reasons, I wanted to share my voice and thoughts with the world!  Also as a young mom, I didn’t want to be known as “only” a mom.  I wanted to connect with other people and create a life for my family.

4. What do you find most challenging?

The most challenging part of blogging is definitely pushing past the hard times.  Low views, writers block, negative feedback etc.  As a new blogger, it can be discouraging but we have to remember to keep moving forward because our voice matters.  A couple other challenges were setting up the “tech” side of a blog.  I’m not a huge technology person by any means!

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

Anything and everything Parenting.  Including finances, diy crafts, pregnancy, postpartum and more.  I want to help other momma’s and fellow bloggers with whatever obstacle they may be facing!

6. Are you blogging for fun, or do you have goals?

Both!  One day, I would love for my blog to become my full time income and allow me to be able to stay home with my family.  But, as of right now, it’s a hobby.  And I don’t want to ruin that by thinking about money too much.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Definitely the amazing group of supportive people I’ve come across.  There are so many wonderful bloggers out there who are so helpful and encouraging.   I’ve created amazing friendships with people I haven’t even met in person.  I never thought I could feel so connected with someone over social media or through my blog!

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference?

No I haven’t, however, it is definitely something I would love to do in the future!

9. What are your 3 best posts?

  1. 21 Easy Ways To Save Money!

  2. 12 Positive Parenting Affirmations For Stressful Days

  3. 7 Steps To Patient Parenting

10. Describe yourself in 3 words!

Busy!  Anxious!  Motivated!

As a mom of 2 under 15 months I’m busy lol.  I’ve suffered from anxiety my whole life.  I’m motivated to change my life and provide the best for my family!

11. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person!

I personally don’t drink a lot of tea or coffee,  but I’m definitely a cake person!  If I had to choose, I would probably prefer coffee over tea!

12. What’s your idea of a perfect night out?

My idea of a perfect night out would be no children, a nice fancy dinner and going to watch a great movie with my husband.  Maybe a nice walk after!  As long as I’m with my husband it’s a perfect night.

13. Perfect night in?

I love our nights in when we can just lock the door, relax in our pjs on the couch.  Watch our favourite Disney movie with our little boy and just cuddle.  Family is so important to me.

14. What would your best friend/OH/ mom or kids say your best quality is?

My leadership or my work ethic.  I’ve always known how to take charge in a respectful way and I will not stop until my work is perfect.  I believe how hard I work, resembles how much I’m worth.  We are all worth a lot!

Post Comment Love 15 - 17 June

Hello there and welcome to another #PoCoLo - if you were here last week, it was great to see you. If you're new here then you're very welcome and I just know that you're going to find some cracking posts, and possibly even some new-to-you blogs.

You'll remember that last week we had some time off, this week no such luck and that seems to be the theme of the week.  We weren't fortunate enough to escape The Letter about the allotment so we've spent some time over there strimming and generally make it look as if we're tending the plot, rather than just growing weeds, which admittedly is an easy mistake to make!

Sadly though I am still the human of choice for the midges (and worse) over there and once again I'm sporting some way too red and way too swollen bites. This time though I've one on my forearm which has been painful enough for me to actually phone the doctors.  If it carries on this way I'll be queuing for an emergency appointment this morning - I hope I'm not, but unless there's a dramatic change over night I think that's unlikely.

On a cheerier note, my photo this week is a burst of yellow - what else? - that I've walked past on my walking commute route.  Let's hope the bites calm down again, and that I become less tasty to the bite-y population.

Blogger Showcase: Karen from The Next Best Thing To Mummy

This week you can read Karen's full answers over on Morgan's blog, but before you go let me whet your appetite.  Some of you will most likely already know Karen and her blog as she is a #PoCoLo-er linker, she's chatty, kind and strong and blogs as a hobby to pass the time since a stroke - you'll find plenty of posts about child minding, but do pop over and find out more about Karen.

Don't forget to pop over and say hello on her social channels too:  Facebook  -  Twitter   -   Instagram.

Hello there and welcome to this week's #PoCoLo. If you were here last week, it was great to see you and if you're new here then you're very welcome.  Either way Morgan and I are sure you'll find some great posts (and blogs) to read as you link up.

We've had the shortest of working weeks with just two days in the office and the rest at home. It's been a momentous week too, as the builders have all but finished and we're starting to "reload" our conservatory.  There's been more cleaning (joy!), some shed tidying up (yes, we know how to live) and quite a few deliveries.

My photo this week is what we saw when we opened one of our deliveries, not quite what we expected, and not right either.  A replacement is on its way and should be with us later today, I hope - look out for more, including where it's from soon.

Blogger Showcase: Tamanisha from Sincerely Tawn

1. Who are you?

My name is Tamanisha (Tawm-uh-ni-sha) John and I am a Ph.D. student at Florida International University, where I study International Relations full time and run a “relaxed lifestyle” blog— sincerelytawm.com — whenever I’m procrastinating.

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I’ve always been fond of writing in general, and have always loved the idea of having my own blog.

3. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because staying up late at night and writing in my iPhone notes became much easier than writing in a notebook. However, due to space constraints on my phone, I made the switch to blogging. In my notes, I would simply reflect on my days, reflect on events that happened, ideas I’d have, and food places I’d love to try eating at or have gone to eat and enjoyed it. It was sort of like memory keeping.

4. What do you find most challenging?

At the moment, the most challenging thing has been balancing being 100% honest with myself— as I had been with my iPhone notes— on a more public platform. I fear being judged. However, this fear may be a bit irrational since everyone that I’ve ‘met’ (online) whilst blogging has been encouraging.

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

My favourite topic to write about is memory keeping for myself. Something unique to my blog that I was not writing about before in my notes, were movie and book reviews. I really enjoy writing those. I also enjoy doing more in depth food reviews, by researching restaurant owners beforehand.

6. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

Initially I was blogging for fun, but now I do think that I have goals. My mom is probably the most ardent reader of my blog, and she followed my entire left hand planner creation process and has convinced me to share and create a left handed planner in my image. This has gotten a lot of traction from other interested lefties, and righties. And so my current goal is to be the ‘home of the #leftyplanner’ that others can practically use.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

My favourite thing about blogging is being able to share my memories with others. I never knew how helpful individual and personal memories can to be others. I also like being able to relate to my co-workers and colleagues more who read and enjoy— both my lifestyle blog and academic blog.

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

I have never attended a blogging conference, but it does sound like something I’d be interested in!

9. What are your 3 best posts?

In terms of views and engagements, my three best performing posts are: ‘Finally A (Healthy) Brunch Shop in South Florida,’ ‘PlannerCon 2018, San Francisco Weekend: Day 3,’ ‘PlannerCon 2018, San Francisco Weekend: Day 2.’ But personally, my top three favourite posts that I’ve written are: ‘Rest Peacefully, Granny LJJ,’ ‘The [not so] Automatic Millionaire. A Review...,’ ‘Life and Planner Updates!

10. Describe yourself in three words!

Responsible, Outgoing, Mellow

11, Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

Tea and biscuits please!

12. What's your idea of a perfect night out?

A perfect night out for me, consists of dressing  cute and going out with my friends to a nice lounge that has great music to dance to.

13. Your perfect night in?

A perfect night in consists of a criminal investigation type series or sci-fi movie, as I eat my favourite pizza. My favourite is Pizza Hut‘s thin and crispy pizza, with garlic buttery crust, topped with beef, green peppers and Peruvian cherry peppers

14. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

From friends to my mom— and also my ex— they would say my best quality is my honesty. My co-workers would describe me as blunt and diplomatic.

Thanks Tamanisha for joining in.  If you want to connect with our blogger showcase this week please check out her social channels:  Twitter  -  Instagram  -  Pinterest.
