Post Comment Love and Blogger Showcase 16-18 December 2016

Hello there! Friday again? Yes, I don't know how it happens either.

If you're new here, hello and welcome, it's great to have you here. And if you were here last week, hello and welcome back and I'll be over soon, I promise. Life got in the way this week in all kinds of ways.

I'm also struggling to believe it's almost a year since Morgan and I took over the reins from Vicky, but I'll have to admit it's been a blast and I've read some fantastic blogs over the year, and met some of our amazing regular linkers in real life too. Today is our last #PoCoLo of the year, because well Christmas is just around the corner, even if the weather doesn't think it is!  Phew! I got a weather reference in there in the end!

So before we get onto our Blogger Showcase this week, I want to thank you for coming back each week and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We'll be back for the first #PoCoLo of the year on Friday 6 January 2017 at 6am!

My photo this week is of the Christmas Tree mast on the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. It's probably the biggest tree I've seen this Christmas so far and I think it's pretty cool!

Blogger Showcase: Victoria from Lylia Rose

1. Who are you?

My name is Victoria and I blog at Lylia Rose.  I’m a 31 year old mum of two, Reuben 21 months and Bella 4 years, and wife to Ben.  I work evenings, mummy in the day and blog whenever I can!

2. How did you discover blogs/blogging?

Accidently!  I actually wrote a blog post titled ‘How I Accidently Became a Lifestyle Blogger’ which explains it in detail.  But basically, I started to get traffic to my online shop, then fell in love with it and started to blog about all sorts of things instead of just my shop.

3. Why did you start blogging?

To increase traffic to my shop, but now my blog is totally different.

4. What do you find most challenging?

Finding the time to blog as my life is so hectic and busy all the time.  I need a day to myself to blog!  One day…

5. What is your favourite topic to write about?

Natural wholesome food brands – especially start-ups who have a really great product which I get excited about.

6. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

It was for fun at first, but it has surprisingly turned into part of my income, so now I blog for both fun and business.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Finishing a blog post and being really proud of it.

8. Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

Not yet.

9. What are your 3 best posts?

Oh gosh, I have over 500 so can’t remember them all, but some of my faves are:

10. Describe yourself in three words!

Daydreamer, hard-worker, healthy

11. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

Tea and biscuits, but green tea with Organix kids gingerbread men!

12. What's your idea of a perfect night out?

A meal with my husband and an activity – the trampoline park or bowling perhaps!

13. Your perfect night in?

A takeaway and binge watching a series with snacks, with the husband of course.  Or blogging if I’m by myself!

14. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

My husband says he likes how highly motivated and determined I am.  Aaw!

Post Comment Love 9-11 December 2016

Hello and welcome to another Post Comment Love, and for me another busy week. If you're new here, welcome and if you've joined us before, welcome back. Usually on a Friday I find myself talking about the weather, and so as not to break tradition, what is going on this week?

It's December, but the temperatures have risen again and so it doesn't feel like December. Most odd, I was quite enjoying those frosty mornings, but I've had to restrict how many photos I take. In fact so much so, that I struggled to choose a photo from this week for today's post, but I got there.  It is another Greenwich Park photo, but this time looking at the trees from the outside. And admiring their lacy branches against one of those lovely blue skies that accompanied the frosts.

Blogger Showcase: Ashley from Ashley Legacy

This week we're showcasing a new-to-me blog. You can find out more about Ashley and her blog, Ashley Legacy, which covers fashion, beauty and lifestyle over on Morgan's blog.  Ashley says she's an average teen girl who loves to write, drink tea, watch Netflix and hang out with friends.  She lives on the East Coast of Canada and her mum says she's a glass half full type of girl, so do pop over and find out more about her, and do check out her recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Post Comment Love and Blogger Showcase 2-4 December 2016

Hello and welcome to Post Comment Love.  If you were here last week, thank you it was great to see you and sorry - it seems my winter picture from last week was a bit of a forecast for the weather here this week! If you're new here this week, welcome!  Morgan and I hope you find our growing #PoCoLo community friendly and supportive, and we know you're going to find some great posts to read.

My photo this week is from Greenwich Park, it really is a magical place and I make no apology for including yet another photo from there. We've had a couple of heavy frosts, but as that's coincided with the start of December, it's helped me start to feel Christmassy much earlier than usual. I've already posted a couple of Christmas posts, and I've a few more yet to come.

The post I've linked this week is a competition to win a book that's made it onto Richard & Judy's Autumn picks, so no mean feat, and it's a book that when I read it in September when it was released, I couldn't put down. It's a simple competition, all you need to do is leave a comment on the blog post to enter, don't miss out on this great read.

Blogger Showcase: Lucy from Lucy's Locket

1. Who are you?

Lucy's locket blog

Hi! I’m Lucy from Lucy’s Locket.  I have an 8 month old daughter, Lilly. I use my blog as a space to reflect on life, motherhood and the quest for balance as a working mum.  Aside from my blog, I work part-time as a lawyer for a small law firm in Perth, Australia.

2. Why did you start blogging?

I explain why I started blogging in my very first post.

In short, I feel like I have a lot to say and no one to say it to. I don’t have close friends and family that are in the midst of this work/life juggle and those that are think very differently about it to me. I have a positive mindset and I want to interact with like-minded people.

In addition to this, I want to tell other parents about my experience in taking my baby to work with me. I am yet to meet another person who does this, but I know they must be out there! There are so many benefits to taking your baby to work. I’d love to see this become more common.

3. What do you find most challenging?

I have always struggled to articulate how I feel. I am hoping that blogging will help me to improve on this.  Many of my posts end up being quick thoughts rather than well thought out posts. I usually have much more to say on a particular topic, but I struggle to get the words out so I just post it as is.

4. What is your favourite topic to write about?

At the moment my favourite topic is about work/life balance. I know it’s overdone, but I am really passionate about it. I think many people are too quick to focus on the difficulties of balancing paid work and parenting.

5. Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

Just for fun. I don’t expect to make any money from my blog, but I do hope that blogging will help me to improve my writing skills.

6. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

The community. I wanted to meet people with similar values and interests and I’ve done just that!

7. What are your three best posts?

8. Describe yourself in three words!

Positive, independent, kind.

9. Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

Can I be both? I enjoy a good tea, but since I started taking my daughter to work when she was a newborn I have been treating myself to a coffee each morning and have become a bit of an addict!

10. Your perfect night in?

Not long after having my daughter we were sat on the sofa on a Friday night. My husband was watching a film, I was drinking tea, reading a book and breastfeeding our new baby girl and our dog was curled up at my feet. That was perfect to me.

11. What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

I asked my husband a similar question a few weeks ago. He said I was dedicated. I liked that and I think he is right. If I am passionate about something I will give it my all.
