The Garden Year: September 2024

Welcome back to this month’s Garden Year linky - if you were here last month, it was great to see you. If you’re joining for the first time, you’re very welcome. The linky will stay open for the whole month, so I hope you’ll pop back during the month. I’m looking forward to reading about your garden projects and garden visits.

It’s been great to enjoy summer in the garden - or at least some of it, we’ve had all sorts of weather this month, but I think that’s an English summer right? As the days shorten (already - it seems so soon), you can almost smell and taste the seasons changing can’t you. Though autumn is a particular favourite of mine, I know that it also brings winter much closer - but I’m not thinking about that quite just yet.

Let’s enjoy these next few months getting our gardens ready for another year of growing

It’s hard to believe that we’re on our second August in this garden - plans are starting to formulate, but they need more detail, a lot more detail. We’ve started by measuring the garden, every which way you can imagine, and I think MOH ‘gets’ the concept of the zones I’ve tried to convey, but a picture says a thousand words and all that, so hence the more detailed plans.

But until then, there’s still too much gardening to do!

Well June brought with it a mix of weather didn’t it? We’ve had cold and dreary days and then super hot and sunny days where gardening is just a bit of a write off. Thankfully there were days where the weather wasn’t quite so extreme and plenty of gardening could happen. I also visited Gardeners’ World Live, and had a fab time - with many posts still to follow.

Have a good month, and I’m looking forward to seeing your gardens this month - and the gardens you’re visiting.
