We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’ve joined us.

The weather here is still, shall we say, changeable. When the sun’s out it’s lovely, but most of the time the sun isn’t out. We’ve been in the New Forest for a short break and the first day it was dry and the sun was trying to shine (but didn’t) as we walked around Exbury Gardens - a lovely place which I’ll share more about soon. Yesterday we weren’t as lucky, we headed down to Lymington to do a walk around the salt marshes and nature reserves, and while the first half was dry the second half was far from dry.

Never mind though, now that we’ve dried off I can say it was great to be outside in such beautiful surroundings and the pub we stopped off in for lunch - a healthy pint, french fries and chicken skins - was full of character, including this matchbox art. A simple but quirky idea, that not everywhere will be able to pull off that’s for sure!

Keep your fingers crossed for better weather today…

Many old matchboxes stuck on a board and displayed on the ceiling

This weekend it’s the London Marathon, which is a really great event which goes right past my front door. It’s a weekend we look forward to, and I’m glad it’s back to its April slot in the calendar after a brief sojourn into October to accommodate the changes due to the pandemic. Since when the runners are more spread out, understandably, but it means that the time it takes to get half the competitors through is much, much longer.

This photo is from a pre-pandemic race with a couple of the entrants making their way to the start line. We don’t get so many of the fun runners in costumes coming past, though we do get some, on the whole we’ll expect to see the elite runners, followed by club runners as well as fun runners, which as a term is a complete misnomer for me at this distance!

Let’s hope the weather works out for them, and doesn’t affect their preparations too much. And if you see me on the telly, I’ll give you a wave!

Once again it’s been a week with all the weather, though there have at least been longer glimpses of the sun. My post this week shares more about my day at The Stitch Festival which I needed to delay my departure from. I’m not a big fan of coats, and definitely not a fan of carrying coats around an fair, and don’t have much patiences for cloakrooms either, so where I can I avoid taking a coat. And last Friday was one of those days. However I’d finished my last workshop, and was just about to leave when it was clear the storm had arrived overhead, so a quick change of plan was needed.

It didn’t last long though, so that was good and like others I waited it out. It wasn’t long before the sun was back out and I headed out and as I found somewhere for lunch I snapped this wet pavement shot capturing the reflection of the sky, and kind of liked how it turned out. I liked the fact I didn’t get wet a whole lot more though!

A very wet pavement in Islington with great reflections of the sky in the puddles

We’re taking a break for Easter, so #PoCoLo will return on Friday 21 April. Please do take some time to visit and share some love on some of the posts linked here, and have a great Easter. See you on the 21st!
