Welcome to this week’s #PoCoLo - a friendly linky which I co-host with Suzanne, where you can link any blog post published in the last week. We know you’ll find some great posts to read, and maybe some new-to-you blogs too, so do pop over and visit some of the posts linked and share some of that love. If you were here last week it was great to have you along, if you’re new here this week we’re pleased you’re here.

Despite it raining most of the week, once again I’ve spent very little time online and on my blog. And while that’s good in some ways, it does make me feel more behind with everything than I’d like to be. I am clearly still relishing the freedom of not being bound to my desk, but with that it seems comes the unruliness and lack of routine. Something to work on, I think.

There was a break in the rain though and I grabbed that, along with my waterproof and headed down into Greenwich. I found myself wandering around the National Maritime Museum and realised it’d been such a while since I last visited and enjoyed new and old exhibitions. I’d not seen the ship’s badges before, and they covered the walls in the Sea Things area, so for my photo this week I’m including my favourite, isn’t it great?

It’s been pretty wet here this week, and yesterday we had our heating on for the first time which I think must be our all time record. Up until now it’s been mild enough to not need heating, which is good news as like many people we’re much more conscious of the energy we use.

The weather has meant delays for the decorators finishing the exterior of our house, but we’re really pleased with the work they’ve done so far. Our house looks so much fresher, and it’s amazing what a fresh lick of paint can do.

This week I’m linking my garden in October, and I’m also including a photo of my hydrangeas here. They look so delicate and fragile but are standing up so well to the driving rain, so there’s more about them than you think!

I’m struggling to believe that October is almost done, but yet we have temperatures similar to those of summer (a normal summer, not the summer we had this year). Though it has been nice to be out without a coat, though always with an umbrella close to hand - just in case. Luckily I’ve missed most of the heavy downpours, and an umbrella feels like overkill for the drizzle.

Yesterday I was up in central London and ended up walking from Victoria, past Buckingham Palace and onto Trafalgar Square as the weather was so lovely. I’ll share more about my trip into town in a separate post - but it was totally blissful and relaxing. My photo is from the hotel foyer which had the most amazing floral display in the central lobby, using multiple glass vases and autumnal blooms and greenery. Absolutely gorgeous.
